BM1 Display Drive units

A very versatile battery operated drive unit for lightweight use. This Unit comes in three models each operating at a specific speed 0.6, 2.5 and 9 Rpm. However the speed can be doubled by changing from the single D cell 1.5Volt battery holder to a double D cell battery holder giving 3 Volts. Thus the operating speeds would then be 1.2, 5 or 18 Rpm.

Please note: There are a number or special aspects involved in display drive tasks, specifically in display drive construction .The motor requirements dictated by the display must be determined on a case-by-case basis and are best found using a sample. Our motors were specifically developed for detailed tasks in display construction in terms of output power and speed. In many displays,load reversals play a secondary role in the output power. Major differences occur when the power is demanded sporadically or continually. In crane or lifting movement the required work output is clear from the work that is required to be performed in a given period of time. It is exceptionally important when choosing the right display drive to determine this figure-we call it torque requirement. The easiest way to determine torque is to experimentally replace the drive motor with a torque wrench. the highest torque requirement from slowly turning the drive shaft provides the result. Torque peaks usually occur in lifting movements and can usually be reduced to an acceptable level by using counterweights or shifting the centre of the motion.

Note the battery holders simply plug into the drive motor this can be from the side or bottom of the unit.

The single battery holder will give a standard speed but this is doubled with the double cell holder.
